Other profiles (PE, FLOCK)

“Other profiles (PE, FLOCK)” is the designation for two specific groups of auxiliary sealing and protection profiles that are not made of conventional rubber or TPE materials.

What are the other PE, FLOCK profiles?

Description

Polyethylene (PE) gaskets They are characterized by high stress corrosion resistance and very good mechanical-physical properties. They do not contain any additives and can withstand normal weather conditions and temperatures from -15 °C to + 70 °C without altering their performance, but they do age prematurely in prolonged exposure to the sun. They are made of granulate with a specific gravity of 0.92 g/cm3 and a hardness of approx. 47°ShD. Flocculated seals Flocked seals are made by combining rubber and flock. This process creates a seal that is used in a number of industries, mainly automotive or rail. This type of gaskets is used as a replacement for non-compliant gaskets that are loosely inserted, glued or assembled in another way. The properties of the individual seals are determined by the materials combined in the series.

Properties

FLOCK profiles are used wherever there is contact between two moving surfaces and quiet and smooth guidance is required.

very low frictional resistance quiet running (no squeaking when moving) pleasant touch surface excellent for sliding systems

Versions

Most common in the automotive industry: window side guides (so-called "run channel") door seals, sliding windows profiles in frames where glass moves In construction: sliding doors windows with sliding movement furniture drawers with silent guiding

Material basis

PE, EPDM, NBR, SBR.
